It's a debate that causes many a household argument.

A recent study found 82% of people are particular about what way round the toilet roll faces - 67% believe the only correct way is to have the paper coming down ‘over’ the rest of the roll to hide it.

It comes from a survey commissioned by B&Q in the UK to find out what really goes on in the most secretive room in the house - the bathroom!

The study of 2000 found 42% often escape to the bathroom for a bit of peace and quiet away from the rest of their household.

In fact 55% regularly have an extra-long bath or shower so they can have more time to themselves.

A further one in six have been known to give themselves a pep talk in the bathroom.

Sex, phoning friends, drinking beer and writing to-do lists are other things people have been known to do in the tiled haven.
