Who's guilty of this?

More than half of us have pretended to have watched TV shows we've never seen - to avoid being left out of conversations.

A Radio Times survey found Stranger Things, Game of Thrones and Breaking Bad are the most lied-about programmes.

52% of people who took part in the poll admitted telling fibs to friends and colleagues.

1,300 people took part in the research with 48% admitting that they didn’t embellish the truth about what they watched.

Here's a list of the top five shows people have lied about watching the most:

  1. Stranger Things (14%)
  2. Game of Thrones (10%)
  3. Breaking Bad (7%)
  4. The Crown (2%)
  5. Schitt’s Creek (1%)

Editorial Director at Radio Times, Tim Glanfield said:

"Our survey illustrates just how much we love talking about TV, however, it’s a surprise to see just how many of us are not completely honest about what we’ve seen.

"With so much choice in a truly golden age of TV it’s almost impossible to see everything, so don’t be afraid to admit you’ve never tuned in!"
