Here are some of Irish Twitter's biggest moments in 2021

Twitter has revealed it's top moments, tweets and people from this year.
To be fair, now is probably a good time to take stock of a year that literally felt three days long, as 2020 looms.
A tweet by the newly inaugurated American president Joe Biden in January was the most liked by Irish Twitter this year.

Unsurprisingly Covid-19 topped the list as the most used news hashtag in 2021.
What may come as a surprise is the runner up, which was #MicaRedress following a massive campaign to help Mica-affected homeowners in several counties.

An Garda Síochána's Jerusalema Challenge video was the most liked Tweet from an Irish account.
They had been challenged by the Swiss Police to give it a go.
In music, BTS had the most discussed handle in Ireland, which is unsurprising considering the overall dominance they have on the platform.
