Girls, now you know why you're wrecked all the time.

New research has discovered that women are losing out on three hours of sleep every night.

That's a whopping 1,095 hours missed each year.

The UK study by Bensons for Beds saw 2,000 couples quizzed about their sleeping habits.

A third of women admitted they woke up every single night, while one in two said they're "constantly sleep deprived".

In contrast, only two in 10 men stated their sleep was regularly disrupted.

Men are partly to blame for women's lack of shuteye - a large number of ladies reported that their partner's snoring wakes them up.

While period pain and getting up to their kids were the other main reasons.

The survey also found that lack of sleep makes women feel less confident about themselves and their appearance.

It also has a massive impact on their mental health - one in three said the exhaustion was making them depressed, while 73 per cent confessed they were at their "wits end".
