Both boys deny all charges.

The Ana Kriegel trial has heard a boy claimed he left the abandoned house where she was found after he realised his co-accused was “raping” her.

Both boys deny murdering the 14-year-old schoolgirl on May 14th last year, while one of them is also accused of violently sexually assaulting her.

BOY B is accused of luring Ana Kriegel out of her home in Leixlip on the day she went missing – May 14th last year.

It’s the prosecution’s case that he handed her over to BOY A knowing what was to happen and that he watched an alleged sexual assault take place.

Today, the jurors resumed watching BOY B’s recorded interviews following his re-arrest last July.

He told detectives he saw Ana and his co-accused “struggling” in a room inside a derelict farmhouse in Lucan. He claimed BOY A flipped her onto the floor and climbed on top of her. He told them he was “choking” her and described him “slowly” undressing her.

The jury heard him tell the detectives that he was standing at the doorway and that he “had to run” when he realised BOY A was “raping” her. He said Ana was crying and begging BOY A to stop.

Mr. Justice Paul McDermott again reminded the jurors that anything BOY B says about his co-accused during these interviews can't be used by the prosecution in its case against BOY A.
