The game has three educational institutions – DCU, St Columba’s College and Nord Anglia.

Its emerged Dublin City University paid fees to ensure they were the only university to feature on the new Dublin version of Monopoly.

The Times Ireland Edition reports the college went for the most expensive package available which includes a square on the board as well as a DCU image.

They also apparently sought assurances from Monopoly that they would be the only University to feature.

The property is valued at 320 Monopoly dollars but it's unknown how much the deal between DCU and Wining Moves cost.

Other sites included in the latest Dublin edition of the classic board game include; Croke Park, Guinness Storehouse, Temple Bar, Brown Thomas and the Ha'penny Bridge.

The dark blue squares were reserved for Phoenix Park and the GPO.
