TikTok and Instagram are on board.

Instagram has announced it will make under-16's accounts private by default to create a safer experience for teens.

Now only approved followers can see posts and leave a like or comment.

Instagram also announced that they'll be using new technology to find adult accounts that teens might not want to hear from, and stop them from finding and interacting with teens.

They're also limiting the options advertisers have to reach young people on Instagram and Facebook.

It follows an announcement from TikTok that they're making 13 to 16 year old's accounts automatically private.
