A Fundraiser has now been started.

Yesterday evening, a trend blew up on Instagram.

There we were enjoying our evening, flicking through our Insta feed and all of a sudden there's a ton of pics of people's dogs.

Now we're just as happy as the next person to have cute dogs fill our feed but we couldn't help wonder what was going on.

Well, a sticker went viral and kind of backfired.

It was asking people to post pics of their pets and for every pic "they" would plant a tree.

But who are THEY?

One Instagram account has claimed responsibility now and it's PlantATreeCo.

PlantATreeCo is a company that sells necklaces, and commits to plant a tree for every one that is sold.

It says that it aims to plant a million by the end of 2021 – though it has only planted 6,500 trees so far, according to Independent.co.uk.

They were fairly overwhelmed by it that they actually attempted to stop the trend by deleting the sticker but it was too late.

Now though, they've decided to start a fundraiser to try plant those trees you're all owed:

"We want to use this awareness for lasting impact, so we created this fundraiser. Please share this post and the fundraiser on your story, and tag all your friends, celebrities, and @instagram so they can see this and so we can ACTUALLY plant 4 million trees"
