Hey Inishowen... iRadio is On!

When it comes to Donegal, there's an awful lot to shout about, and we think it's about time iRadio turned the volume up.

We're about to get a whole lot louder in north Donegal from next week!
iRadio are delighted to announce we're switching on our new transmitter and launching a brand new frequency in north Donegal, 105.0FM!
This comes on top of a bumper year for iRadio's listenership, with latest JNLR figures showing that 347,000 people are tuning into to us every week - and we've reached a record high in market share at 8.7%.
Donegal played a key role in the latest expansion of our listenership, we want to reach more people than ever with our new transmitter!

So we have a whopper week of major celebrations planned to mark the occasion...

From August 8th to 12th, we'll will be taking over the stunning Inishowen peninsula, broadcasting live from Malin Head, Grianán of Aileach, Carndonagh and many other north Donegal hotspots.

Whether it's a surf one one of the sprawling beaches, bear watching at Wild Ireland, getting in a round of golf, or taking in one of the incredible historic sites, we're on a mission to put our new broadcasting powers to the best possible use.

This is all happening with a massive thanks to the brilliant team at Go Visit Inishowen - and we'll be broadcasting from their Tourist Office in Buncrana before hitting the road with some of their expert guidance on what to check out!

Our very own Sharron Lynskey will bring iRadio at Work to the hills of Donegal, with the best tunes, chat and listener favourites like The Vault.
She and the iRadio team will spend the week exploring spectacular trails, discovering some of the country’s most scenic routes and immersing themselves in everything Donegal has to offer.

iRadio CEO Mark Cunning said:

"2020 and 2021 were two really difficult years. We weathered the storm; we managed the recovery, and the iRadio strategy is now firmly focused on growth across all areas of our business.

In last week’s JNLR listenership survey we recorded our highest ever market share. We know our programming strategy is working.

As part of the growth strategy we’ve undertaken a sizeable project to ensure that iRadio continues to improve its coverage across our 15-country franchise area.

As someone who spent thew early part of his life in Carndonagh and pretty much every Christmas and summer in Gleneeley and Culdaff; launching our new frequency on 105.0 FM in North Donegal is up there for me as a career highlight.

We’ll be increasing our presence in north Donegal from here on in and I can’t wait to welcome new listeners from Inishowen to iRadio."

So to hear all the action from the Inishowen peninsula, just tune into 105.0FM and enjoy!
