A man has been charged with three counts of attempted murder following a knife attack in Dublin last month.

50-year-old Riad Bouchaker, of no fixed abode, appeared before Judge Bryan Smyth at Dublin District Court this afternoon.

He is accused of the attempted murder of three children, 2 girls and boy.

A further charge of serious assault causing harm to a creche manager, and three assault causing harm charges to two other children and a male French national were brought forward, as well as a charge for production of a weapon.

When charged with the second attempted murder of a female child Mr. Bouchaker replied ‘I am a sick person’, a response he repeated when presented with the weapon charge.

Through an Arabic interpreter he was remanded in custody to Cloverhill District Court to appear via video link on December 28th.
