Here are 5 simple tips on how to save money this month.
January is a month of change and self-improvement with many people making new years resolutions and challenging themselves to make better life decisions.
One of those challenges should be to save money.
You might have the January blues but we're going to save you some green!
Here are a few simple ways that you can save money this month:
- Have a plan. You can download a free budget plan sheet that will help you keep track of your savings and stick to your goals over the month.
- Get your family on board and discuss what you shouldn't spend money on this January. That can include cutting out takeaway coffees or online subscriptions. If you can, walk to school or work instead of driving, that will save on fuel.
- Meal plan. Before you step foot in a shop, know what your meals are for the week. It's proven that if you go food shopping while hungry or without a plan, you're going to spend more money. Also, skip the sweet isle.
- Give dry January a go. Saying no to alcohol for the month will no doubt save you dolla's so tell your friends you're hibernating in January.
- If something goes wrong and you need to spend, try an alternative first. Can you borrow, fix for a lower cost or get bye without it for a while?
Saving money can really relieve stress and be beneficial for your mental health so give it a go and see how you get on.
Carrying good budgeting habits into the new year will help you save money for holidays, that new car or other personal luxuries.
No spend January is going awful. I haven’t spent any money but I’m realizing a main source of my happiness comes from spending money 😭

Doing no spend, no alcohol and no processed sugar January. Basically I am not partaking in anything which gives me joy for the entire month and am already a miserable bitch 🙂
