Storm Eleanor: Status Orange wind warning for Galway, Munster and Leinster.

Storm Eleanor is expected to hit Ireland today

Met Eireann has reported that gusts of up to 110 to 130 km/h may be felt later this afternoon, as Storm Eleanor hits our shores.

Consequently, a status Orange Wind warning has been issued for the following Counties: Dublin, Carlow, Kildare, Laois, Longford, Louth, Wicklow, Offaly, Westmeath, Meath, South Galway, Clare, Limerick and Tipperary.

The Met say the strongest of the winds is expected at around 4pm, and will have hopefully passed by 9pm.

In addition to high wind speeds, a risk of coastal flooding has also been issued.

Make sure to check on loved ones, be careful and stay indoors if possible.
