Dylan O’Riordan, 19, originally from Co Galway but now living in Boston, has been in custody for four-months under new laws from President Trump.
Mr O’Riordan, who is married and has a 9-month old daughter, is set to be deported back to Ireland sometime between Today and the 27th.
Previously immigrants who arrived to the States as children were protected under the DACA Act. (Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals). This allowed them to work legally in the US via renewable two-year work permits.
The 34 undocumented Irish deported in 2017 are a tiny number compared with the 128,765 Mexicans ejected, but in Boston's close-knit Irish community, the wave of arrests is big news. https://t.co/aFYlxwMJuD

He was brought to the States in 2010 by his parents- who both hold U.S. Green cards - under the Visa Waiver Program.
However the new laws implemented by President Trump mean that Dylan - and hundreds of thousands of others - must be deported back to their Country's of Origin.
In a heart-wrenching Facebook post, Dylan's wife Brenna wrote:
“Please help me and my family get my husband home!
“He has been detained by ICE for four months now and they are going to deport Dylan between the 24-27 of this month.
“Dylan is such a kind hearted man who loves me and his daughter and family, Dylan doesn’t deserve this kind of treatment!
“Please help us fight to get him home because this is where he belongs. Dylan has an almost nine-month-old baby and he has missed such big things in her life and it’s truly heartbreaking.”
Speaking to an American Radio Station from his Cell, Dylan himself said: “I was aware how, with Trump, immigration was going to get a lot harder, but I didn’t pay as much mind to it as I should have, which was my first mistake.”
A total of 34-Irish immigrants were deported last year.
